The Texas Public Unemployment Compensation Program (TPUCP) is a member-owned and governed interlocal program created in 1996 to provide a lower-cost alternative for school districts to manage unemployment compensation claims. While unemployment compensation costs are not a large expenditure, savings from this program can generate additional monies and save taxpayer dollars while also reducing the administrative burden. Members are assisted in the preparation of claims and appeals with TPUCP, acting as a liaison between Texas Workforce Commission.
Since its inception, Members have realized savings ranging from 15-50 percent over comparable programs and have been provided long-term rate stability in an unpredictable unemployment market. ERMI's program is easy to join and does not create additional work for your staff other than collecting the necessary data to join.
